Cyclones Earn Sportsmanship Honor

Congratulations go to everyone involved with the Cyclones for winning a Bronze Chevron for Sportsmanship from the LIJSL for our performance this past spring season. We finished in 2nd place in our division for sportsmanship, missing 1st place by just 5 points. However, our consistent week in and week out performance has earned us a Bronze Chevron which can be worn on the sleeve of our uniforms.
It is an achievement that takes a positive effort from everyone who attends our games that includes players, coaches, parents & siblings. The Cyclones are one of only 2 POB travel teams to be recognized for sportsmanship out of the 24 travel teams in the club.
See the letter received from LIJSL below.
Great job everyone!!!

Dear Coach,
On behalf of the Long Island Junior Soccer League and Modell’s Sporting Goods, it is our distinct pleasure and honor to inform you that the Cyclones have won a Bronze Chevron for the Spring 2006 Season. Like the sportsmanship patch, the chevron can be proudly displayed on your players left sleeve.
Sportsmanship is about character and fair play and how one carries these ideals through soccer. The chevron is our way of giving recognition for a job well done.
As a recipient of this award kindly accept the League’s heartfelt congratulations.

Thank You,

Richard Baroniunas
