The Cyclones celebrated Memorial Day weekend by hosting a 4 team soccer festival at the POB Travel Fields. The Floral Park Mahicans, Copiague Blue Angels & Port Washington Jaguars joined the Cyclones for a day for soccer & bbq.
Each team played 3 games, getting a chance to play each opponent once. In some cases the teams were mixed together creating an opportunity for the girls from different clubs to play on a single team.
The coals were kept hot most of the day as the parents and family members joined the teams for hamburgers & hot dogs.
Between games the girls from each team got a chance to hang out together and get to know each other. See picture above.
The final event of the evening was the parents/coaches against players match. The good news was that none of the parents injured themselves or any of the players.
In the end we accomplished what we wanted out of the day, lots of soccer & lots of fun.
Maybe we’ll do it again next year.
